Born in Milan in 1976, Mirko Lamonaca lives and works in Bergamo.

Starting from painting, in 2008 Mirko Lamonaca elected the Staged Photography as an ideal way to represent his hand-made sets. Themes of his works were imaginary museums and towns and "Catàbasis", a research on the imagination of the underworld, a project that earned him the first prize at the Ferrara Riaperture Photography Festival in 2018, where it was exhibited. The project was selected to be exhibited, in the same year, at the Indian Photography Festival in Hyderabad.

An open and eclectic interest brought Mirko Lamonaca to follow Lomography in 2016 during a workshop with Franco Fontana, who called Mirko to exhibit with him on several occasions (Milan, Brescia, Bergamo).

Mirko Lamonaca is currently working on the long-term project "Enchiridion". Taking shape from recovered or personal photographs, composed and recomposed in digital collages, and drawing inspiration from multiple figures, places, evocations of mythology, sacred texts, sculpture and painting, "Enchiridion" is a journey into the multiple places of the imagination, of fiction, of surreal worlds, of amazement and fear.

Mirko Lamonaca has exhibited in Italy (Milan, Rome, Brescia, Ferrara, Genoa, Luzzara), Europe (Berlin, Brussels) and India (Hyderabad).
